All though April, the creative scholars at Richmond Elementary school were writing poetry. They chose to write in several different poetic forms including
- concrete poetry, in which the placement of letters and words adds to the meaning of the poem;
- haikus, which have 5 syllables on the first line, 7 syllables on the second line, and 5 syllables on the third line
- and reverso poems, which can be read top to bottom or bottom to top
