Coding Computer Science Information
Computer programming helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity in scholars of all ages. The week of December 7-11, 2105, all RES scholars in grades kindergarten through four had a hands-on introduction to computer programming with Hour of Code activities. Kindergartners and first graders learned with the Scratch Jr. app for iPads and Android tablets, while second, third, and fourth graders used the Star Wars: Building a Galaxy with Code tutorial from Code.org. Both of these programming activities and many more are also available for free for families to use at home.
