The RES DCF Winner is...Belly Up!
Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs was the top Dorothy Canfield Fisher (DCF) book choice of RES fourth graders, edging out Raina Telegemeir's Smile by a single vote. Students who read or listened to at least five books from this year's DCF booklist were eligible to vote for their favorites. All the RES students' votes were sent to the Vermont State Library, where they will be added together with votes from all over Vermont. The Vermont State Library plans to announce the title of the Vermont DCF winning book before April vacation.
Some great statistics about this year's fourth graders at RES:
- Between them they read or listened to at least 218 DCF books!
- 31 out of 57 fourth graders read or listened to at least five DCF books - that's more than half the class!
That's pretty impressive considering that the DCF program is for fourth through eighth graders. We are very proud of everone who participated.
